Report: Gurmat Samagam (October 14, 2008)

On October 14, 2008, AmritWorld.com and Mata Sahib Kaur Istri Satsang Jatha (Phase 8, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, Mohali) organised a ‘Gurmat Samagam’ at Gurdwara Sri Dhanna Bhagat Ji, Phase 8, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar (Mohali). This Gurmat Samagam was dedicated to 300-years celebration of ‘Gurgaddi Divas’ of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.

The recitation of Sri Sukhmani Sahib was started at 09:00 AM. From 10:15 AM to 01:00 PM, Gurbani Keertan was performed by various devotees.

Amrit Pal Singh ‘Amrit’ honoured Bibi Sarla Rani with rob of honour, a dress and Award of Honour. Bibi Sarla Rani belongs to a non-Sikh family. She learned Gurbani singing and now she sings the Gurbani selflessly with Mata Sahib Kaur Istri Satsang jatha.

AmritWorld.com honoured all ‘Keertani’ men and women who performed Keertan in this ‘Samagam’. Other ‘Sevadars’ were also honoured. All were given ‘Award of Honour’ by AmritWorld.com. Sant Surinder Singh and Bibi Rajwinder Kaur were honoured and given robs of honour, dresses and ‘Award of Honour’ by AmritWorld.com.

After the ‘Ardas’ (prayer) and ‘Hukamnama’ of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, the ‘Guru Ka Langar’ (free food in the name of Guru) was distributed.
