(Amrit Pal Singh ‘Amrit’)
Bhai Hardeep Singh Dibdiba, the writer of book ‘Saaka Neela Ton Baad’, told me that a few people were threatening him.
In fact, Bhai Hardeep Singh Dibdiba was fully aware even before writing this book that a few people would not like the contents given in the book. Even then, he wrote, because he wanted to tell the people what was going on behind the curtains in Sikh politics right after the Operation Blue Star.
Everyone should respect views by his opponents. If he does not like such views, he can have a debate in a good way, without hiding his real identity. When someone hides his real identitys, if indicates that he has no faith in his own views or he is coward. If someone threatens, it proves that he has no answer to the points raised by his opponents.
So far as Bhai Hardeep Singh Dibdiba is concerned, I think it is his bold step that he spoke his mind and shared his experience.
At the same time, it is bad that a few people have threatened him. I thought such threats were annonymous, but I have talked to Bhai Hardeep Singh Dibdiba himself. He confirmed that there are many threats. A few of persons even threatened him on face.
As a writer, I strongly express disapproval of such acts. A Sikh follows Gurbani, “Bhai Kaahoo Kau Det Naih, Naih Bhai Maanat Aan. Kaho Naanak Sun Re Manaa, Gyanee Taahe Bakhaan”. (One who neither frightens anyone, nor is afraid of anyone else; says Nanak, listen O mind! Call him wise.) (Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, page 1427).
