Universal Declaration of Human Rights Adopted

Sixty years ago, on December 10, 1948, the United Nations adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR). The UDHR was the first international recognition that all human beings have fundamental rights and freedoms and it continues to be a living and relevant document today.

Amrit Pal Singh ‘Amrit’ and AmritWorld.com make an appeal to all supporters and visitors of AmritWorld.com to publicize the text of the Declaration. The text of the Declaration should be spread, displayed, read and explained first and foremost in schools, colleges, universities and other educational institutions.

On the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (December 10, 2008), AmritWorld.com under the guidance of Amrit Pal Singh ‘Amrit’ adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

AmritWorld.com pledges to take responsibility for upholding the goals of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. We will do our best to speak out to protect the freedom and rights of others. We will spread the message of the Declaration in our website and during our meetings, classes, research tours and educational tours.

We affirm the following principle:

Everyone is entitled to all the rights and freedoms set forth in this Declaration, without distinction of any kind, such as race, colour, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status.

Starting of Sahajpath and Nishan Sahib Service

Two ‘Sahajpath’ of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji were started on November 25, 2008. The one was started by Gurpreet Singh ‘Raju’ and other by Harpreet Singh, both members of Team Amrit World.

Sahajpath in Gurdwara Patshahi 10, Quila of Raipur Rani

The prayers (Ardas) for Sahajpath were performed by Amrit Pal Singh ‘Amrit’ of AmritWorld.com at Gurdwara Patshahi 10 in Quila (fort) of Raipur Rani in Haryana, India.

A set of beautiful Rumalas were offered to Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. This set of Rumalas was tailored by Bibi Manjit Kaur, wife of Gurpreet Singh ‘Raju’.

Gurpreet Singh ‘Raju’ offered ‘Chola’ of Nishan Sahib (religious flag) as well on this occasioin. Nishan Sahib was washed first with water and then with milk. New chola was put on Nishan Sahib. A prayer was performed by Amrit Pal Singh ‘Amrit’ when the seva (service) of Nishan Sahib was completed.

Report: Gurmat Samagam (October 14, 2008)

On October 14, 2008, AmritWorld.com and Mata Sahib Kaur Istri Satsang Jatha (Phase 8, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, Mohali) organised a ‘Gurmat Samagam’ at Gurdwara Sri Dhanna Bhagat Ji, Phase 8, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar (Mohali). This Gurmat Samagam was dedicated to 300-years celebration of ‘Gurgaddi Divas’ of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.

The recitation of Sri Sukhmani Sahib was started at 09:00 AM. From 10:15 AM to 01:00 PM, Gurbani Keertan was performed by various devotees.

On this occasion, Amrit Pal Singh ‘Amrit’ announced a new project ‘Project Sahajdhari’. He appointed Gurpreet Singh ‘Malhi’ a director of this project by giving him rob of honour. Raj Bhatia from the city of Indore and Vijaydeep Singh (Delhi) are other senior members of this project. A website under this project will be launched soon.

Under the ‘Project Sahajdhari’, Amrit Pal Singh ‘Amrit’ honoured Bibi Sarla Rani with rob of honour, a dress and Award of Honour. Bibi Sarla Rani belongs to a non-Sikh family. She learned Gurbani singing and now she sings the Gurbani selflessly with Mata Sahib Kaur Istri Satsang jatha.

AmritWorld.com honoured all ‘Keertani’ men and women who performed Keertan in this ‘Samagam’. Other ‘Sevadars’ were also honoured. All were given ‘Award of Honour’ by AmritWorld.com. Sant Surinder Singh and Bibi Rajwinder Kaur were honoured and given robs of honour, dresses and ‘Award of Honour’ by AmritWorld.com.

The Team Amrit World’s members were honoured by Mata Sahib Kaur Istri Satsang Jatha, Phase 8.

After the ‘Ardas’ (prayer) and ‘Hukamnama’ of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, the ‘Guru Ka Langar’ (free food in the name of Guru) was distributed.

‘Educational Tour Kapalmochan’ - A Report

August 8, 2008 has become a memorable day for AmritWorld.com’s team members. On this day, AmritWorld.com organized ‘Educational Tour Kapaal-mochan’.

AmritWorld.com has organized a few ‘Educational Tours’ in past, but ‘Educational Tour Kapalmochan’ was different from other educational tours.

Amrit Pal Singh ‘Amrit’ desired to organize an educational tour for Kapalmochan, during which the participants would visit Gurdwara Patshahi 10, Quila of Raipur Rani. Gurpreet Singh ‘Sandy’, a team member, took responsibility to fund the ‘Educational Tour Kapalmochan’.

A monkey dishonoured a page of Sri Guru Granth Sahib in Gurdwara Patshahi 10, Quila of Raipur Rani. Amrit Pal Singh ‘Amrit’ though repaired the page on same day as it was not completely destroyed, he in the Gurdwara Sahib announced that a new ‘Saroop’ (copy) of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji be installed there. Guru Gobind Singh Sahib inspired Jatinder Singh ‘JD’, a team member, to do (financial) ‘Seva’ of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and other required articles (Manji and Chavar etc). Amrit Pal Singh ‘Amrit’ wanted to do ‘Prakash’ (installation) of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji in a small function.

Keeping other facts in mind, Amrit Pal Singh ‘Amrit’ decided to organize ‘Educational Tour Kapalmochan’ and ‘Gurmat Smaagam’ in fort of Raipur Rani together.

August 8, 2008 was fixed for the ‘Tour’ and ‘Gurmat Samaagam’. On August 3, AmritWorld.com convened a meeting in Gurdwara Patshahi 10, Raipur Rani Fort (http://www.amritworld.com/main/official/meeting-in-fort-of-raipur-rani/), in which members of local Sikh community also took part. They discussed this matter in details.

On the same day, AmritWorld.com convened a meeting of team members in Gurdwara Manak Tabra, near Raipur Rani in Haryana. (http://www.amritworld.com/main/official/meeting-in-manak-tabra/).

AmritWorld.com got a new ‘Saroop’ of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and kept it in Gurpreet Singh Sandy’s house. Other related articles were purchased and AmritWorld.com was ready for the Tour and Gurmat Samaagam.

On August 8, 2008, AmritWorld.com’s team members under Amrit Pal Singh ‘Amrit’ reached Gurpreet Singh Sandy’s house. The prayer was performed and the holy ‘Saroop’ of Sri Guru Granth Sahib was respectfully placed in a vehicle (Tata Safari). They reached where the participants of ‘Educational Tour Kapalmochan’ were waiting eagerly.

As soon as the vehicle of Sri Guru Granth Ji reached there, the participants raised slogans of ‘Bole So Nihal. Sat Sri Akal’. First of all, ‘Ardas’ (prayer) was performed and then ‘Prakash’ (installation) of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji was done in the same vehicle, from where ‘Hukamnama’ was read out.

Bhai Sunpreet Singh and Bhai Inderpal Singh performed ‘Keertan’ in their sweet voices. ‘Prasaad’ was distributed and ‘Sukhaasan’ of Sri Guru Granth Sahib was done.

After taking breakfast served by Gurpreet Singh Sandy and family, the participants started their ‘Tour’ in a beautiful bus.

All the participants, under Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, first visited Gurdwara Manak Tabra Sahib. Amrit Pal Singh ‘Amrit’ told history of Gurdwara Sahib to the participants. They had ‘Darshan’ of Gurdwara Sahib and also took tea and ‘Lassi’ (an Indian drink made of curd) in ‘Guru Ka Langar’ (community kitchen).

On the other hand, the local Sikh community of Raipur Rani was eagerly waiting for Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and the participants of ‘Educational Tour Kapalmochan’.

Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji was given very warm welcome by the local Sikh community on main road (Raipur Rani – Narayangarh Road). The five ‘Singhs’ were honoured also. Here, the participants were given tea and breakfast by local Sikh community.

Reciting the holy Gurbani, the participants and members of local Sikh community passed through markets of the town on foot and reached Gurdwara Patshahi 10.

First, the new ‘Saroop’ of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji which was brought by AmritWorld.com was installed in Gurdwara Sahib. Then, ‘Bhog’ (completion) of ‘Sahajpath’ of Sri Guru Granth Sahib was performed. Sets of beautiful ‘Ramalas’ were offered to Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji by Jatinder Singh ‘JD’ and Gurpreet Singh ‘Sandy’, both members of AmritWorld.com.

Bhai Sunpreet Singh Ji and Bhai Inderpal Singh Ji performed Gurbani Keertan. Amrit Pal Singh ‘Amrit’ shared his views in details on history of Gurdwara Sahib.

On this occasion, AmritWorld.com honoured those members of local Sikh community who are doing selfless service to Gurdwara Sahib.

Amrit Pal Singh ‘Amrit’ honoured Gurpreet Singh ‘Raju’, Gurpreet Singh ‘Sandy’ and Harpreet Singh for their services to AmritWorld.com. Local Sikh Sangat honoured the five Singhs of AmritWorld.com group. Amrit Pal Singh ‘Amrit’ was also honoured and given a turban on behalf of local Sikh Sangat.

The next destination of ‘Educational Tour Kapalmochan’ was Gurdwara Toka Sahib in Himachal Pradesh. The participants visited Gurdwara Sahib, where Amrit Pal Singh ‘Amrit’ shared his views on history of this place. Then, the participants had ‘Guru Ka Langar’ (food from community kitchen).

When AmritWorld.com’s ‘Educational Tour’ reached Gurdwara Janam-Asthan Shaheed Peer Budhu Shah in city of Sadhaura, they were given warm welcome by local Sikh Sangat. The participants were given tea and biscuits etc by local Sangat. In Gurdwara Sahib, Amrit Pal Singh ‘Amrit’ shared his views on Shaheed Peer Budhu Shah Ji in details.

The participants visited Gurdwara Kachcha Quila in Sadhaura (Here Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Ji built a temporary fortress to attack the fort of Sadaura city). On behalf of Gurdwara management committee, head Granth Bhai Teja Singh presented ‘Siropa’ to Amrit Pal Singh ‘Amrit’.

It was late when AmritWorld.com’s ‘Educational Tour Kapalmochan’ reached the historic city of Kapalmochan. Though, the time of daily congregation in historic Gurdwaras of Patshahi 1 and Patshahi 10 was over, but the management committee was waiting for the participants of the tour. So, they kept the doors of both Gurdwaras open for the participants and Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji was still installed.

The participants first took bath in ‘Sarovar’ (pond) and then visited both Gurdwaras (Both Gurdwaras are located in same complex).

The management committee had cooked ‘Guru Ka Langar’ especially for the participants. After having tasteful ‘Guru Ka Langar’, the participants returned to Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar (Mohali) and ended the ‘Educational Tour Kapalmochan’.

Meeting in Manak Tabra

On August 03, 2008, a meeting of AmritWorld.was convened in Gurdwara Manak Tabra, Patshahi 10, in Haryana state of India. The meeting was presided over by Amrit Pal Singh ‘Amrit’. Meeting in Fort of Raipur Rani

On August 03, 2008, a meeting of AmritWorld.com and local Sikh Sangat was convened in Gurdwara Patshahi 10, in Quila (fort) of Raipur Rani city in Haryana state of India. The meeting was presided over by Amrit Pal Singh ‘Amrit’. The issue of Gurmat Samaagam in Gurdwara Patshahi 10, Quila of Raipur Rani to be organized by AmritWorld.com on August 08, 2008 was discussed in details.

The meeting was attended by Gurpreet Singh ‘Sandy’, Gurpreet Singh ‘Raju’, Paramjit Singh ‘Mintu’, Janamjit Singh, Charanjit Singh, Sarjit Singh (all from AmritWorld.com), Raghbir Singh, Gurdev Singh, Avtar Singh, Ankur (all from local ‘Sangat’) and others.

Educational Tour Sri Anandpur Sahib (Report)

AmritWorld organized an Educational Tour for Sri Anandpur Sahib (Pictures) on June 29, 2008.

All the participants gathered near the Yadwindra Public School Chowk in Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar (Mohali) at 06:30 AM. Amrit Pal Singh ‘Amrit’ performed the Prayer and after that all the participants left for Sri Anandpur Sahib in a bus while raising slogans of ‘Boley So Nihaal. Sat Sri Akaal’.

Once the bus started its journey towards Sri Anandpur Sahib, the participants started reciting the ‘Keertan’ (holy devotional hymn singing).

First of all, the participants visited Gurdwara Sri Pataalpuri Sahib, in the city of Keeratpur Sahib Ji. Here, they took ‘Guru Ka Langar’ and tea. They listened the Gurbani Keertan in Gurdwara Sri Pataalpuri Sahib Ji.

Then, the participants reached Quila Lohgarh Sahib in city of Anandpur Sahib. Here, in Gurdwara Sahib, Amrit Pal Singh ‘Amrit’ shared his views in details on history of Anandpur Sahib and Gurdwaras situated in and around the city.

The participants then visited Quila Holgarh Sahib. After that they reached Quila Anandgarh Sahib. Here, near the main entrance of Quila Anandgarh, Amrit Pal Singh ‘Amrit’ gave brief information on history of Quila Anandgarh Sahib and Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib.

The participants visited the Quila of Anandgarh Sahib. They had ‘Darshan’ of old ‘Bauli’ of the Quila.

The participants then visited Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib and listened Gurbani Keertan. They took ‘Guru Ka Langar’ here.

Afterward they visited Gurdwara Dumalgarh Sahib, Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib, Gurdwara Bhaura Sahib and Sri Damdama Sahib etc.

The participants performed Gurbani Keertan in Gurdwara Sahib Shahi Tibbi, where Bhai Uday Singh was martyred in battle in 1705.

The participants visited Gurdwara Bhathha Sahib also.

At 09:00 PM, the participants reached back S.A.S. Nagar (Mohali).

Monthly Meeting, 13 July 2008

 

The monthly meeting of AmritWorld.com was convened on Sunday, July 13, 2008.

Amrit Pal Singh ‘Amrit’ explained the 10th ‘Vaar’ of Bhai Gurdas Ji. In his speech, ‘Amrit’ glorified Bhagat (worshipper of the God) Dhru, Bhagat Prahlaad, Bhagat Jaidev, Bhagat Namdev, Bhagat Kabeer, Bhagat Sain, Bhagat Dhanna, Bhagat Beni, Bhagat Ravidas and others.

The issue of proposed ‘Educational Tour Kapaalmochan’ was discussed in details. It has been decided to organize Educational Tour Kapaalmochan in first or second week of August, 2008.

The meeting was attended by Gurpreet Singh ‘Sandy’, Gurpreet Singh ‘Raju’, Janamjit Singh, Jatinder Singh ‘JD’, Harpreet Singh, Sarjit Singh and Bhupinder Singh ‘Monu’.

 

 

Educational Tour Paunta Sahib (Report)

AmritWorld.com organized an Educational Tour for Sri Paunta Sahib Ji in Himachal Pradesh state of India on May 11, 2008.

All the participants gathered near the Yadwindra Public School Chowk in Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar (Mohali) at 05:00 AM. Amrit Pal Singh ‘Amrit’ performed the Prayer and after that all the participants left for Sri Paunta Sahib in a deluxe bus while raising slogans of ‘Boley So Nihaal. Sat Sri Akaal’.

As soon as the bus started its journey towards Sri Paunta Sahib, the participants started reciting the ‘Nitnem’ (Sikh Daily Prayers). After the ‘Nitnem’, the participants recited Sri Sukhmani Sahib (a holy composition written by the 5th Guru, Sri Guru Arjun Dev Ji). Then, the participants started performing ‘Keertan’ (holy devotional hymn singing) in the bus. A prayer was performed after the Keertan and ‘Prasaad’ was distributed among the participants. All this happened in the bus while traveling to Sri Paunta Sahib Ji. In a tourist resort in Himachal Pradesh, the participants had their breakfast and tea etc.About 10:00 AM, the bus reached Sri Paunta Sahib Ji. AmritWorld had already booked rooms for participants. All the participants took some rest in their rooms.At 10:30 AM, the participants gathered in the newly built hall, where Amrit Pal Singh ‘Amrit’ described history of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Sahib Ji in details. After that, the participants enjoyed bath in river Yamuna. They took ‘Guru Ka Langar’ in the community kitchen.Participants performed ‘Keertan’ in Gurdwara Sri Paunta Sahib Ji from 02:15 PM to 03:00 PM.Amrit Pal Singh ‘Amrit’ performed prayer after the ‘Gurbani Keertan’ and then the participants left for Gurdwara Sri Bhangani Sahib.Bhangani is a village, where the battle between Guru Gobind Rai Ji and hill kings was fought. A Gurdwara is built in memory of Guru Gobind Rai Ji.

The participants recited ‘Gurbani’ in the holy Gurdwara and had ‘Guru Ka Langar’.

Then, the participants visited Gurdwara Sri Teer Garhi Sahib Ji, another historic place related to battle of Bhangani Sahib.

While returning to Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar (Mohali), the participants visited the historic Gurdwara Sri Nada Sahib in Haryana State. It was around 10:00 PM.

At 11:00 PM, all the participants reached Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar (Mohali), where Amrit Pal Singh ‘Amrit’ performed the prayer of thanks.
